“PORT Moresby residents will get the chance to meet the Port Moresby SP Cup Teams come Saturday 17 th May 2008, before the kick off on Sunday 18 th May,” said SP Brewery Marketing Manager Mr Tzao Shen Tan.

According to Mr Tan, SP Brewery as major sponsor is bringing something new to the rugby league supporters and residents of Port Moresby. “In the past two years, we have had motorcades prior to the kick off to showcase the players and promote the game. This new format is a more exciting and interactive occasion for our rugby stars and their supporters,” said Mr Tan.

SP Brewery together with the presenting sponsor B-Mobile will be stationed at the Central Waigani Stop-N-Shop from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday 17 th May 2008 with Port Moresby’s very own Port Moresby Vipers and Masta Mak Rangers SP Cup players.

The “Meet & Greet” sessions will also be organized respectively for the other kick off venues: Lae at the Lae Hockey Field and Kokopo at the Best Buy Shop, at the same time.

The game will kick off on Sunday 18 th May 2008 in Port Moresby, Lae, Kokopo and Mount Hagen.

In Port Moresby, newly formed franchise Masta Mak Rangers and Port Moresby Vipers will play a game not to be missed, in Lae, reigning premiers Mabey & Johnson Muruks will take on local team LBC Bombers; Agmark Gurias will challenge the visiting Bintangor Lahanis and in Mount Hagen, Bintangor Hagen Eagles will take on the Toyota Mioks.
