KUNDU LAGER LAUNCHED IN NCD

KUNDU LAGER LAUNCHED IN NCD

SP Brewery recently launched the Kundu Lager Beer across NCD and the surrounding area. Kundu is a 4.5% (alcohol by volume) lager beer brewed in the recently expanded Port Moresby Brewery. A new recipe was formulated using best practise global brewing techniques that are less expensive than traditional brews with the savings passed to the consumer.

Kundu Lager Beer is brewed for those seeking an honest beer at an affordable price point. At 72 kina per carton (24 x 330ml cans) Kundu offers an alternative to illegal and unregulated alcohol sales. SP Brewery is concerned with promoting the responsible consumption of alcohol. Therefore, Kundu is only sold to licensed distributors and resellers that in turn abide by the Liquor Licensing laws, ensuring no availability to minors and observing controlled opening hours. SPB is concerned with the availability of harmful alternatives and believes offering an affordable authentic beer will assist in addressing such harm.

With this new recipe the taste and colour of the brew is different from any of SPB’s existing beers and the advertising slogan “Kundu Singautim Yu” reinforces its appeal to the target consumer. Taste trials were conducted to find the right taste profile that is easy to drink and represents value for money at 72 kina per case.

The Kundu drum was chosen as it is a nationally recognised item, the beer being proudly made in PNG. Kundu Lager beer was launched on August 10th, 2015.
