AUSTRALIAN NRL & BRONCOS STAR, DARREN LOCKYER
 COMING TO TOWN FOR SP CUP GRAND FINAL

AUSTRALIAN National Rugby League and Brisbane Broncos star player Darren Lockyer will be in Port Moresby on Friday 7th September for the SP Cup Grand Final activities this weekend.

SP Brewery General Manager Stan Joyce announced that SP Brewery and PNG National Rugby League have lined up some exciting activities leading to the Grand Final and are looking forward to having Lockyer as part of it. Lockyer is accompanied by another NRL star Peter Ryan.

From the airport, Lockyer and Ryan will be visiting the SP Brewery premise at Gordons to meet the management and staff before the Grand Final reception in the evening.

“Lockyer will be our guest speaker at the SP Cup Grand Final Reception on 7th September at the Crowne Plaza where SP Cup franchise teams and sponsors will be attending,” said Mr Joyce.

The Grand Final reception will highlight the following:

• Two SP Cup Grand Final teams – Agmark Gurias and Mabey & Johnson Muruks;


•   Presentation of the SP Lager Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year; and


• Australian NRL and Broncos Captain Darren Lockyer as the international guest speaker.

 As part of the grand final activities, SP Brewery is organising a SP Cup Trade Road Show this Saturday 8th September featuring Lockyer and Ryan.

The trade show will be a ‘Meet & Greet’ session with the NRL stars at the RH and Stop N Shop Central, Waigani, from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon.

The two Grand Final Teams will be part of this event as well.

“We are also pleased to announce that Bill Harrigan has once again agreed to be the referee of the SP Cup Grand Final game,” said Mr Joyce.

“As the major sponsor of the SP Cup, SP Brewery is appealing to all rugby league supporters, spectators and players to have an enjoyable and  trouble free grand final this Sunday,” concluded Mr Joyce.
